Awesome flashlight
I'm reading some other reviews about The Illuminator LED Flashlight and I just can't figure out what they're talking about. I recieved one of these lights for Christmas and it's amazing. I cranked it up for a full minute and played with it for over an hour before it needed additional cranking. I recently used it to light an automotive repair that took me 2 hours to complete. I cranked it up and it lasted a full hour with very bright light. I cranked it up for the second hour with about a 45 second crank. It really great, bright and environmentally friendly with no batteries ending up in the landfill for our great grand kids to deal with. Buy this light, it's well worth it.
Don't be fooled by the low price!
If you search for the keyword 'Illuminator LED Flashlight', you'll find that this same item is offered from varies sources at wildly different prices. So naturally, you should just go for the lowest price, right? Not so fast...
I already bought one Illuminator flashlight elsewhere (see my "Customer Images' above), and was going to order a few more as gifts. The lowest price I found here is from 'IGgFactory Handhelditems' at $7.95. But during checkout, I found out that their standard shipping and handling fee is $8.21 for just one item. The flashlight itself weights only 7 oz., but the company charges 4 lb. for shipping weight. What a rip-off!

Not Bad, But Expect a Quarter Hour Maybe...
The light produced is comparable to a typical single AAA single LED flashlight (small, such as a Dorcy). By comparison, when activeated with one LED, it's a bit dimmer, three LEDs produces a little more than the AAA light. It's inexpensive LEDs tend to produce light tending towards the blue end of the spectrum. However, the product packaging claims "One minute wind-up provides up to 1 hour of continuous ultra bright light.", and it doesn't. One minute of fairly vigorous winding provided about 7 minutes on three LEDs, and 15 minutes of decent light before going very dim. Nowhere near an hour, and nothing is "ultra bright" about it. Just bought from Khol's ~ Love it!
I just got this from Khol's. They had it on sale for $11.99. When I saw it, there were plenty on the shelves. I was kind of curious as to what they were because of its funny shape. There was a try me sign on there. So in my boredom, while waiting for my ride, I read the directions on the back and actually tried it. It was kind of funny to read 'wind up for light'.
I'm glad I checked out the aisle. I've never seen anything so cool.
It's very simple to wind-up the flashlight. The ball has a special roller that allows you to pump easily. It's not difficult to follow the instructions. Anyone could do it.

Illuminator (Brand name) crank flashlight
I have two Illuminators. One has a radio. I use one every night when I walk my dog. It gives great light on one and very bright on three LEDs. I know there is another brand that doesn't work this well.
The one with the radio works well also. I have been using them for several months.
