Lasted just over year before battery failed to recharge
This worked great when I first got it. I had several cross country trips to make within the first 6 months of purchasing it and it worked perfect.
For reasons unknown it stopped accepting a charge. Whether it was from the wall or from USB or Firewire. It just died. Not only that, ever since it stopped accepting a charge it also drained my iPod video and it will no longer turn off. If I would have reviewed it 6 months after purchasing I would have given it 5 stars. I can handle the $60 spent on it because it really made those trips easier. But to have it suck the life out of my iPod and no longer work after just a year, I would give it negative stars if I could.
Amazed this product exists and is unknown
I was very skeptical when I first saw Tekkeon MP1100 Mypower™rechargeable Battery and Dock for Ipod because it seemed amazing that a product that could give you 9 additonal video hours and 42 additonal video hours would not be well known. Since it was 60 bucks I felt it was worth the risk. Well, I received the battery and did a test by running 5 1/2 hours of video. At the end of the test, the battery still had two of its three green lights showing so it very likely would hit the 9 hours it claims. I immediately bought a second unit. The only downside is that you need to buy the Firewire iPod adapter (if your PC does not have a firewire connector) due to the unit only being able to be charged via firewire. Great Battery!!!
This battery pack for the ipod is almost perfect! The $60 retail price is very reasonable for what you get. This battery is about as thick as the 30 GB video ipod and it lasts for a long time. I managed to watch 2 videos (about 2 hours each) and an hour or two of music before recharging. Even then, it still had about 30% of its charge left! I bought this to be able to watch the videos on my ipod video without sitting next to a wall outlet due to the poor video battery life, which is understandable due to the enormous amount of power needed for the videos. This battery lasts for a while, trust me! I'd highly recommend it. I also like the different sized pads and belt clip, so it'll work with any ipod. Overall, excellent purchase. Good job Tekkeon!
