What Others Say
A beg old MEH
So let me say this......they do exactly what they say they will do.....
However, when you consider that most of the time you are making cupcakes to take somewhere or give to someone.....sure you might want to take the "wrapper" off of it, but realistically, the wrapper goes a hell of a long way to making it easier to handle when putting the frosting on.
So great idea, but practically speaking....unless you want 12 perfect brownies at your house that you would never worry about loosing the thing you baked them in....this is just one more thing taking up space in my crowded kitchen.
Best Baking Cups Ever!
I bought 2 dozen of these Sili-Cups about 4 years ago. I've used them several times, and have had perfect cakes every time. I saw that the previous review said that they had difficulties when removing the cakes from the cups. I have no idea how that could be possible. Perhaps if they tried to take the cakes out before letting them cool...?
If someone has a cupcake (or cupcake-esque) recipe that they would like me to try with these cups, I'd be up for the challenge! :)
These cups look great when you set out cakes, in their cute little pastel cups, for Easter, too!
Never again
I received these baking cups as a gift and only used them because I did not have any paper liners. I will never use these again. The idea is interesting in theory, but the reality is that they are hard to peel from the cake. They do not stretch away from the cake enough to remove the cupcake/muffin easily and in one piece. My husband had cupcakes flying everywhere. They'd work if one were to use paper liners with them.
$9.99 for that last bit of batter
I find myself wishing I had these on hand when I make cakes but I only ordered these when they showed up in the 4 for 3 promotion. Some brands offer twice the number of cups for the same price. I like these softer colors more than the Kaiser brand ones. The mini ones for the same price and in the same quantity seem to be overpriced. I still used paper liners and it looked nice.
