EVERYBODY COMPLAINING, THE ALL THE KNIFE'S HANDLE GOT CRACK AND GETTING BIGGER CRACK. I AM VERY VERY UNHAPPY.
Extremely Pleased
I bought these knives for my wife for Christmas and could not have been any more PLEASED! I am amazed reading the other reviews. All the pieces arrived together, no 'cracked' handles.
They are simply the best set of kitchen knives I have ever used. Excellent quality steel, maintains their edge.
I'm sorry to see that Amazon does not offer them anymore. I was going to buy them for friends and family for Christmas this year!!!

For the price I paid I gues cannot expect great quality, but then someone should tell you so you can choose if you still want to pay it even though handles come crakced.
They are nice looking though...
Not Cuisinart's Best
I purchased this set thinking that Cuisinart had improved the quality since there were so many reviews on the cracked handles...of course they hadn't. 13 of my knives were cracked, that's over half the set! I called Cuisinart and they directed me to another company that handles their cutlery (phone number for those with the same problem is 1-800-252-3390). After waiting on hold and being bounced around for an hour, I finally spoke to a representative that told me that the set was discontinued and offered me either the KitchenAid red set or a black or stainless steel Cuisinart set. The actual blades and weight on this set are great, but I would pass on Cuisinart 21-Piece Knife Set with Block and Bonus Poly Cutting Board and just purchase another brand or the stainless steel set and save yourself ... Great Knives! Company is aware of problems and will replace broken sets.
These knives are great for the price--the blades are sharp and fairly substantial. I use them on a daily basis, and with regular honing, they keep a really nice sharp edge. They won't compare to really high-end knives, I'm sure, but for the casual cook they're perfect.
When I got them for Christmas, I noticed (as have many other reviewers) that several of the handles were cracked at the rivets. I emailed Cuisinart to see if I could get them replaced. They gave me the number to Lifetime Brands who handles their cutlery line (1-800-252-3390). I called them, and found that they were aware of the problem and have stopped making the red knives because of it. They sent me a new set of great looking stainless steel handled knives.
