MyPod ok, not great
My son works at a coffee shop so he gets great deals on coffee. Thus we decided this would be a great option to use with our Senseo machine. And, it does work, but taste pretty much matches drip coffee. Still, it's convenient and quick for one quick cup of coffee. However, although the cost savings is much better than ordering pods, we find ourselves using the pods much more. They are quick and easy (why we wanted the Senseo in the first place), and give the great creme (sp) topping, which the Presto MyPod does not. I had read that in the reviews before ordering and didn't think it would be a big thing to me, but it is. Not bad for the price!
I got the Presto 09402 MyPod Refillable Replacement Pod (Senseo) it does works but it doesnt make the coffee like the senseo pods do. Its ok for the money but I'll be willing to pay more if the coffee will come out like it does when you used the senseo pod. Bottom line its ok for the money!
Broke the machine!
Not only did this not work but it wrecked the machine. After using this one time the machine never worked right again. Water would pour out the side of the machine and it would not brew anymore.
Excellent refillable coffee filter
This coffee filter, combined with the Senseo, can produce a truly outstanding and consistent cup of coffee on a regular basis. I have used this filter for over a year (more than 300 cups of coffee) and found it first rate, especially if you like a strong, full flavored cup of your own coffee brand. I used to be an espresso drinker but prefer a large cup in the morning and this does it. Couple of points: 1) Make sure and use as fine a grind as you can without slowing the Senseo water flow down to a drip - I use the espresso setting on a Breville Conical Burr grinder with no problem. 2) Use a good burr grinder - it makes a BIG difference - spending the extra money will be worth it. 3) For a good strong full cup of coffee fill the filter to the ... Totally Great!!!
After reading all the reviews and seeing the problems some had using the MyPod, I thought twice about getting it. My hubby talked me into it and I am SOOOO happy that he did! I use it several times daily and have not had a single problem with it. It is super easy to fill and use, perfectly sturdy, cleans up quickly and makes a great cup of coffee. There is nothing I would change about it and would buy it again with no reservations.
