very happy with this unit
I recently bought an XM Inno and I really didn't want to buy one of their boomboxes for $100 and then spend an extra $30 for the adaptor to fit the Inno. Happily I came across this speaker system that came with the adaptor. Amazon didn't have the adaptor with the unit, but the XM store did.
As other reviewers have said, the sound won't blow you away, but the bass is nice, the unit is compact and the stereo seperation sounds good, and it powers up my Inno while docked in the unit.
All in all, a very nice compact system and I m glad the adaptor came with it.
not bad
this dog worked for when we'd be outside listening to music. i would have liked it if the volume would go higher. and the plastic adapter pieces broke easily for me.
Cheapo!
I bought mine for so cheap, it could have sounded like the speaker on a cell phone. Happily, it sounds much nicer - it even seems to limit my awareness of the really horrible artifacting created by XM's draconian compression routines. It won't get -very- loud, but will certainly fill the next room, while not the whole house, with sound if needed.
I bought this unit to replace the dying base station from my Tao xm2go home kit. This wound up being much cheaper than buying a whole new home kit.
Incidently, the enclosed XM antenna in mine works fine.
My first one was better
This is the second Altec Lansing docking station I have purchased. The first one works great, but with this one you really have to mess with it to get a signal.
