This is The Skillet!
This skillet is great for stir fry. Nothing can beat it! I like the commercial nonstick surface too because stir fry is cooked over such a high heat. This skillet is great! Cleanup is no problem! Also, you do not need much oil in the stir fry with this pan; so for those of us watching calories for our family, that is a great feature too. Gotta get this one! EXCELLENT CALPHALON I PURCHASED THIS PAN, TO REPLACE A VERY OLD PAN I HAVE BEEN USING FOR YEARS, AFTER I USED THIS PAN, I DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO REPLACE THE REST OF MY PANS, I JUST BOUGHT AN 8-PIECE HARD ANODIZED CALPHALON COOKING SET, I AM HIGHLY PLEASED WITH EVERYTHING, ITS FUNNY WHEN YOU CAN ACTUALLY LOOK FORWARD TO COOKING A NICE BIG MEAL, CALPHALON IS THE BEST PANS I HAVE EVER COOKED WITH, I WILL BE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE! Perfect wok for the single people This "skillet" is just the right size if you are single and likes to cook. I find it just the perfect little wok to whip up something for dinner. The skillet is heavy anodized aluminum with a seemingly very sturdy non-stick coating. The heavy stainless lid only adds to the heft and quality of the set. It sits on my small electric burner unit very well and heats up nice and hot in no time. Use non-metallic cooking utensils and never put it in the dishwasher and it will last a long time. Excellent plus! Not that Great I am a Professional Calphalon user and thought I would give the Commercial line a try. This is the first commercial Calphalon I bought and I must say that there is a noticeable difference in the quality immediately. However, the quality is much better than the average pots/pans out there so I would still recommend it, but not if you're used to the Professional stock. I found this pan to be much too small for stir-frying. It's shaped like a mini-wok with the top of the pan measuring 9 inches, but the bottom is much smaller. Hence it is not too useful for typical frying-pan jobs like scrambling eggs, frying bacon, cooking a grill cheese sandwich, etc. And it is not large enough or deep enough to stir anything. I plan to return my pan and spend the money on a more useful pan. Nice skillet, technical data incorrect Very nice skillet, good quality nonstick, easy to clean. One problem: technical data says that this skillet is manufactured in USA; the bottom of the skillet says "made in China". I'm having a hard time determining which Calphalon products are made in the USA. | |
