Love it
I love this machine. I have owned at least 4 subpar food processors from well known names. Most of them have broken. (the only one still going is one from the 80's my MIL gave me.
As I said, I love this machine. The base fits well and does not shake while mixing ingredients. The grating attatchment actually grates the majority of the vegetable and the slicing attatchment is amazing. It is very sharp, so be careful! This is MORE than worth the small price here. I sure wish I had bought this 4 years ago rather than settle for useless machines.
So far so good.
I've only had this item for about 2 months, but so far it has worked perfectly for me. I have no complaints at all.
A Great Little Workhorse
I purchased the DLC-5 in November, 2004. It has been nothing but fantastic. The blades are still razor sharp, the motor power is generous for the bowl size. This is not my first food processor, having used both home and commercial (restaurant work) models. The other home model was horrible, I only had it a week it was so bad. In many restaurants, the "standard issue" processor is the DLC-10, a larger version, and another excellent food processor.
I mainly wanted it for making pie crusts (the BEST EVER way to make pie crusts is in a good food processor), but now use it for many other mundane chopping chores as well.
Its also easy to clean! A huge plus.
Cuisinart LC 7 cup food processor
This was a replacement for the same item which no longer operated. The new one is fine and works well
Overall a good machine
An improvement would be more than one speed and a larger capacity. Other than that, it is a good machine and does a good job.
