CD is Good, but noise maker occasionally picks up FM signals
My wife has been asking for a kitchen radio for the last month or two. So I searched through ... to see what was available. This one was, it seemed, the better of the bunch listed. Although all three listed had several unhappy reviews. So I thought I would look around some more before purchasing. By chance, I happened to see this model in my local Warehouse store. I stared at it and I thought I could just bring it back if the reception is really that bad. ...

The reception:
I listened to the reception before installing it. It was really badIt was really bad did I mention it was really bad? To give you an idea, I live on Long Island NY, radio stations are everywhere, and close. I couldnt get reception of some of the most popular stations that broadcast to the entire island. Other channels came in better one stop away on the dial (i.e. 98.7 comes in pretty good at 98.5, but is just white noise at 98.7). Additionally, the unit picked up some channels from CT across the Long Island Sound, which is not unusual, I would just expect to get the station five miles away before the one 50 miles across the water. And no it is not hilly round here.
One caveat; The reception got a little better after install. This is due to the power cord acting as an antenna when it is bent at a 90-degree angle. I stress, a little bit better.

The remote:
The remote works great from as much as a 20 away, and from the side of the unit too.

The overall sound:
The sound is good for a small package. You must keep in mind it is a little radio not a boom box, its sound is acceptable for a such a small enclosure.

The verdict: The jury is still out. I am now actively looking for a replacement. If I find one soon, I will return this in a heart beat. But, my wife intends to use the CD mostly and likes the idea of the additional night light. Ill give it a few days and see if she changes her mind

Saves space but FM reception needs "fine tuning"
We wanted to clear up the counter so we received this unit for Xmas. It was never used because of the POOR FM reception. We kept our boom box out right next to it for 4 months. I finally opened the unit up and uncoiled the small, black FM antenna that was wrapped around the power cord. After feeding it thru the remote control hole, we can pick up every station that the boom box could get with even less problems. So, if you want to fiddle with the "internal" antenna, the unit does perform reasonably well.

GREAT SOUND!!!!
Great sound for such a small price. I totally enjoy this radio. Cd plays great..

Terrible Radio Sound
The radio reception sounds like I am listening to bad audio on a jet airplane. Radio stations have a loud whirring sound unless I turn the radio off and then on again multiple times. CD is OK. I am currently searching for another under counter unit to replace this one as it is so annoying to listen to the radio.

Great space saver
We bought this CD Clock Radio for our kitched and it as been great. We have a large stereo system in our living room but this is a perfect system to have when you're cooking or want some light music while eating. Great points: Easy to install, Looks neat, Takes little to no space My only advice would be not to buy it if you want a loud stereo system. It's meant for single room listening which was perfect for us!
