Nice idea, decent CD sound, terrible radio
I bought this and installed it, and listened to a CD. So far, so good. Then I turned on the radio. Reception was terrible -- to the point where I suspected something was wrong with the unit. I exchanged it for another unit, and the same thing occurred. No matter where it went in my house, there was a strong low-frequency hum (as if I was listening to this on an airplane), and it made listening to anything (even NPR) unpleasant. I returned it again for a refund :-(

SpaceMaker is Space Waster
We purchased this radio a year ago and have had problems with the loudness going up and down randomly. We replaced the unit and the new unit preformed as poorly!
Station selection is poor - very poor reception.
There are no tone controls. Just a base that you can turn on or off.
To recap this radio, don't waste your money! I am going to throw it in the garbage!

read this before you buy
I recently bought this item through Amazon.com and wish I hadn't. The radio reception on mine is terrible. I admit that before buying I read a couple of reviews complaining about the reception, but thought with the GE name it was worth a chance. Big mistake.
The reception I get on a ...cheapie radio I bought at a Dollar Store puts this dog to shame. If the radio feature is a consideration recommend you shop elsewhere, unless you like aggrevation.
Too bad since it is a nice concept.

Good sound, easy install, not a great fringe area radio
I bought and installed this unit for my wife and we still use it. Sound is good. If you live where radio signals are strong, the radio will work ok, We live a fringe area and manage several strong stations (some without fully quieted FM reception). The unit works. I haven't read the manual on how the search rev/fwd buttons work on the remote ... the symbology is two triangles with a bound vertical line which should mean search reverse or forward to next track boundary but more often it seems to work as an incremental search making the chipmunk sound as it parses through intra-track material. CD transport seems solid. Good luck.

Great space saver
We bought this CD Clock Radio for our kitched and it as been great. We have a large stereo system in our living room but this is a great system to have when you're cooking or want some light music while eating. Great points: Easy to install, Looks neat, Takes little to no space My only advice would be not to buy it if you want a loud stereo system. It's meant for single room listening which was perfect for us!
