The Sony AC-E45A AC Power Adaptor is presented as being compatible with the Sony ICF-M410V portable radio. The web site advertisment encourages you to buy the adaptor if you buy the radio by offering a package. Reality is that the adaptor causes the radio to have unacceptable noise and static. What is worse is that the notes on the reverse side of the Sony AC-E45A power adaptor carton say, "Do not use this adaptor with a radio as it may cause some noises." Obviously, had I been aware of the notes on the backside of the carton, I would not have purchased the adaptor and probably not the radio as well. Do not use with AM radio The wrapping for this adaptor states that it is not for use with a radio, since it will cause interference. That is so. Amazon should not recommend this for use with the Sony partable radio. But it is OK for FM and TV audio. Great Product This product does just what it says it will do. I use it to copy stuff from tape recorder into computer and save on battery power. Shipping was a little pricey (which boosted the overall price), but product could not be found locally, so that's okay. Sony AC adapter Although this item seemed a bit higher-priced than other AC adapters, the instructions for my new Sony portable CD player specified this model. The instructions even said that using any other model adapter could cause a malfunction. The Sony AC-E45A AC power adapter was definitely worth the cost. Two features are especially nice: #1 The plug in head is slimmer than most adapters. That means it isn't so heavy and doesn't stick out from the wall as far as others. #2 The plug's prongs even fold in when not in use which is more convenient for packing. Perfect with CD Player I use this to listen to my cd player at night when im ready to sleep. This adapter is perfect for that & saving money on batteries while using little current. The cord is nice & long as well. | |
