works fine, tunes right into a station
I needed a small radio, with a "digital" tuner that I could take with me around the house from room to room, as I clean, etc that will actualy tune right to the exact station that I want, and not one of those dials that you have to keep adjusting. If you want 101.5, you can put it on 101.5 exactly. This radio works great, gets decent signal. If it got a better signal I would give it a 5, but I sometimes have to move the antenna around to get the station I want in certain rooms, but for it's size, it is a great little radio. Glad I bought the Sony I'm very pleased with the Sony purchase. I live in an area surrounded by hills which made reception spotty from many radio stations in the past. The reception from the Sony is excellent and far better than I get from my high quality component system and my old portable radio. A great little portable radio... I bought 2! This is a nice little radio... high quality sound, excellent tuning and fun to listen to. I like the digital tuning, and the built-in weather bands and TV stations come in handy. I recommend it highly... in fact I purchased two (one for the office and one for the bathroom). The only problem with reception is when I use it in my enclosed New York City office far from windows. Reception is virtually non-existent, even when I fool around with the antenna. But when I move closer to a window, the radio is back in business! Lately I noticed it's not available on Amazon.com... I hope that doesn't mean SONY discontinued the radio, because I highly recommend it. NICE PORTABLE RADIO This radio was purchased for use at work in a building where our previous radio had alot of static and sometimes did not pick up AM channels. This radio works well without static. I wish it had come with an electrical outlet adapter rather than just battery power. The weather band is a nice added feature. Has it all very good sounding radio and a plus with the weather feature. easy to do presets at night but could use a lighted dial. buy the ac adapter with it as the batteries last only about three days. a very good compact radio. | |
