good radio, make sure to get the right AC adaptor
So far this radio is performing very well, even on three AA batteries. If you get a Sony AC adaptor, make sure to get the model AC-E455. When I ordered, Amazon had the radio linked to AC-E45A, which actually states on the packaging "do not use with a radio". Hopefully Amazon will fix this soon. Mostly nice radio One odd thing, when the batteries get weak the radio does not fade gracefully, it just shuts off. I assume it's a sample defect. Where's the adapter? I bought this radio online to replace one of two that I already own. I love the compact size, reception, etc. However, this 'new' or re-packaged radio did not come with the adapter plug and these radios seem to go through batteries relatively quickly making it more expensive to operate. Had I known that adapter plug was not included, I would have skipped it. (It's nice to know from the previous review that I can get one at Radio Shack - but for another $25!). Great radio but needs power adapter This radio gets excellent reception and is sleek and clean-looking. However, I had 2 issues with it: A power adapter is NOT included; we had to buy one at Radio Shack for almost $25! The second issue is just a minor one. The photos of the radio lead me to believe it had a metal case; instead, it's plastic. All in all, yes, I would purchase this item again. better than advertised The radio more than lives up to listed features. Superior reception combined with ease of use makes this unit an outstanding value. Has better reception than many other more expensive radios. Sound is adequate and the TV band really comes in handy. Overall, a great value for the price. It is small enough to take with you on the go but big enough to provide full audio pleasure. | |
