Sony Portable Radio
I received the radio within two or three days and it does everything I need. It was easy to program and I'm glad I purchased the Sony.
Great Bargain!
This is a really nice radio for taking to sporting events, camping, fishing or anywhere. It has a great tuner and a very sensitive receiver. I like the features it has, and it is a bargain price too. Even better, it's a Sony!
portable radio
I like the attractive appearance and color; also, the ease of selection of bands and stations. I carry the radio around the house w/ me, so low battery drain is very important. This radio is a very good value!!
Works great where there is good reception
I actually got this radio to take up camping/archery hunting to try to listen to the Bronco game and maybe some weather. We were only about 75 miles from Denver (granted, through some rough country and a lot of mountains). The reception was ho-hum. Weather channels did not exist (do they ever??). I could get 850 KOA if we pointed the antenna JUST right and nobody moved around.
Battery life seems good but I wish I could get blasted AM over 75 miles (they advertise that they're 50k watts for crying out loud!)
Nice radio, but no AC adaptor
I like this radio. Nice design, good sound, lightweight. But I would like it a lot more if I could run it off of either AC power or batteries as I planned to do when I bought it. No AC adapter was included and when I called Sony to order the one recommended in the product literature they said it would cost about $37 (which is what I paid for the radio on Amazon!). It can't cost more than a few dollars to manufacturer such an adapter, so what's going on here? Batteries have much higher environmental impacts than grid electricity, so I'm rather annoyed at this lack of foresight on Sony's part. This is not the kind of forward thinking I like to see in my technology products.
