Kitchen Aid Mixer is Fantastic!
KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red

I bought this mixer for myself about five years ago. It was so great that I gave one to each of my two daughters as bridal shower gifts, and plan to give one to my third daughter next summer when she gets married. We use them often and they've never let us down.

Kitchen Aid Mixer - can't review yet, this is a christmas gift!
I will review after Christmas - bought this for my daughter so hasn't been used yet. I do however love mine!

KitchenAid Mixer
Very satisfied with purchase. It was shipped in a fast timely, manner and the price was the best I could find on the web or even when shopping at department stores.

Gets hot, mixing bowl does not anchor properly
Bought this mixer 6 months ago. Have used it only a few times for easy (i.e.soft) baked goodies. Simply creaming sugar and butter leaves the mixer scary hot and smelling like it's starting to burn. It seemed loud and it rumbled and bounced a lot while mixing.

Tonight I tried making a wet dough (imagine thick pancake batter). Needed to mix 12 minutes on medium - longest I've ever mixed something. It was banging and rocking and thumping all over the counter. We found it was because the bowl would not twist into it's dock. If you forced it in, there was NO WAY you'd ever get it off again. I was afraid of warping the bowl, seizing the motor, or knocking the paint off the paddle with my attempts at mixing...so why use it at all???!

Oh, and med and high mixing speeds don't seem to be any different.

I wrote to Kitchenaid and am awaiting a response. Right now, it feels like a very expensive, giant paperweight.
