very bright, super hot, short battery
bulb very fragile and expensive and hard to find locally. bulb so hot that it melted its own lens, charges in car or home, well built but poorly designed, really skinnier than pictures show, as big around as the middle of a pool cue. lightweight, and waterproof so far. Reliable, very bright! This flashlight is very nice and very bright--my boyfriend uses it every night at work as a police officer and it works great. Flashlight (Streamlight Ultra Stinger) Pros: Light weight, Bright Light, came with 2 chargers (1 for home, 1 for car). Con: gets approx. 1-1.5 hours in between charges. I have been a home inspector for almost 13 years now and this flashlight is lighter and brighter then any hand held flashlight I have had even my handy rechargable maglite (the maglite which works great when it is working - each one of them have had switch problems and would dim by itself. I would need to tap it to get it to go bright again). So far The streamlight Ultra stinger seems like a better flashlight then what I have had in the past and it defenitly a brighter light (I would recommend an extra battery with a dual charger if you want to use it every day like I have to. So far I think this flashlight is great (I can see further and its brighter meaning less time in an attic).Hope this helps. Streamlight Ultra Stinger The dependability and performance of the Streamlight Ultra Stinger is well known, and this was the best pricing on this model that I was able to find after searching numerous online sources. Bought a second one a week after the first I bought this for myself after having tried plenty of what appeared to be "better" grade flashlights including LED lights. Switches failed on many in short order. Got the Ultra Stinger and showed it to my wife who loves flashlights more than me, and when she asked if it was for her, I said, "Of course. I knew you would like it." She was thrilled. She uses this to look at the fish in the outdoor pond at night. So I ordered another one for myself. One little problem: it felt a lot lighter than the first one. Turns out there was no battery in the unit. Amazon was great. UPS picked up the box the next day and Amazon immediately sent out a replacement, with expedited shipping that arrived in 3 days from my starting the return process. The head of the unit can get pretty warm if left on for a long time. I don't know why this model has such a good light output to price factor compared to many of the other Streamlight products, but it does appear to be the best value in this series of Streamlight products. | |
