Excellent Small Radio
This is simply the best portable AM/FM radio I've found. It's very small and digitally tuned with presets. For the non ipod owners For the money, this little walkman is worth it. My gym is in the bottom floor of a condominium so the reception is not very good, but once outside it improves. It serves it's purpose. Sandra At first, great--within a year it died. Twice. Bought for a husband's dog walks, he loved it. At first. It was fabulous, got good reception of both radio and TV in Chicago. Then within a year, but after 90 days it died. But husband said, maybe it was his fault. So I bought another one. Same thing happened. Now twice. Same issue. Poor design. The antennae is the headphone wire and it just goes, even with careful, gentle use. So no, I do NOT recommend this gizmo. Sadly. Its an ok product my only complain is that is does not get great reception. Not bad for the price but it would be better if the reception was better. Good One My son got me this little gem for my birthday last year, mainly because I was admiring his SFR-M37V when he was home visting. The Radio works very nicely for my walks in the morning on AM or FM. What others say is true though it does not do well on real weak stations on AM during the daytime because of it small internal antenna. I would think this would actually work to advantage in a large metropoliton city though because it would not have as much bleed over from other powerful stations. At any rate it receiver does work well and in the evening I listen to 1100 on AM in Cleveland from the St. Louis area, and also pick up all the clear station power house stations in New Orleans, Chicago, Denver, Nashville, etc. Contrar to some reviews here I think this little receiver has excellant sound, so if you get a one that sounds bad send it back for an exchange. This is a rugged little radio, my son has climb many of the highest 115 mountains in the east with this radio in the winter. He uses it for the weather band. It seems to do very well on batteries also considering it is a digital radio. All in all very good radio for the money. I would actually have rated this radio at 4 1/2 stars if possiable. | |
