Sony Under Counter Clock Radio ICF-CD543RM
We are very happy wtih this purchase. It works fine under the counter in our kitchen. We put it near a window so there would be no interference with any objects in the kitchen. Every station comes in clear. We had one (not Sony) before, and had it on the other side of the kitchen away from the window, and certain stations had static.

Happy with the sound
After reading a few of the negative reviews, I realized that most of them had to do with bad reception and CD not working after awhile. So I bought the radio anyway, carefully took it out of the box (in case I had to return it), placed it where it would actually go in the kitchen and tested the radio reception before installing it. The reception was good enough. Installation was easy and fast with the template. As far as the CD player, I spent an extra $20 or so for an extended 3 year warranty so if it goes out quickly I can get another unit. The radio looks sleek and compact. I'm glad I bought it. I believe in the Sony name - I have had good luck with the company in the past.

Great radio
Great looking radio that performs excellent. As others have mentioned, it would be nice if there was a scan option for the radio... but otherwise this kitchen radio works great. I haven't yet used the remote (no need really), but its pretty slick that its magnetic.

Great value for the price
I recently bought this Sony CD/Radio for my kitchen and found it very easy to fit because of the template and the adjustable spacers. The sound quality is surprisingly good for such small speakers and the bass enhancement helps.

I live in Hollywood so there is a huge choice of radio stations. I downloaded a list of the stations/frequencies for each band and it was easy to program them in. The two FM bands gives scope for 10 stored FM stations.

I also have another radio that can pick up weather band (in theory) but I couldn't get it to work on that radio or this unit. I'm assuming that I'm in a bad reception area.

The TV sound works though not as clearly as the other bands. It's accademic really because TV's will soon go over to digital sound so it won't be able to pick them up then anyway!

Yup... I'm happy with the unit!
