Very nice product and deal
Looks brand new, already made a few things and it seems to work perfectly. Great deal!
Very Pleased!!
I was very pleased with this purchase. I was a little leery of the "reconditioned" but have been very happy. It was just as described. Would purchase again.
my second Kitchenaid Mixer
I have owned a previous Kitchenaid Mixer, much like this one (but grey) for well over 10 years. It never failed nor had I ever had a problem with it. But it sat 3,000 miles away from my present home, and figuring the price of shipping - and wanting A RED ONE, I opted to buy a reconditioned red one here.
The word "RECONDITIONED" made me uncomfortable , but the price allowed me to reason out the new purchase....so I bought it. It looked perfectly fine and worked perfectly fine, though I kept waiting for some weird happening that might occur, so I would have to call the company and COMPLAIN.
Sure enough- it seems when you expect something, indeed there is a tendency for that "something" to occur. One day the bowl felt wobbly and the beaters seem to hit the sides. Oh NO!! I called over my engineer husband to assess my problem. As it turned out, "my problem" was indeed MY problem, I had not pushed the bowl down enough to click. LOL
So make sure you click the bowl totally into place....
It has worked wonderfully and I am pleased I took the chance on "reconditioned."
A gamble, but decent service from KitchenAid
No doubt, these refurbished wonders -- when they work well -- are a steal of a deal. However, beware that there is widespread problem with this model, which is perhaps why there are so many available. A rep at a local restaurant supply store near me told me they have been instructed on how to handle this because it's very common with this model. Mine was refurbished incorrectly and I lost out on holiday baking this year because my replacement -- kindly upgraded by KitchenAid -- is so backordered it won't arrive until mid-january. Others seem to have scored with this purchase, so do indulge (I am awed by the perfomance when it performs). But, if it sounds even a little funny, don't waste time -- send it back. I decided to get one as a xmas present to myself in time for holiday baking. I ordered before the model changed, so got the 350-watt version, which is plenty powerful (I don't need to churn bread dough). It was clean as a whistle, but there was a little grinding noise in the mechanism that rotates the beater. A call to a KitchenAid tech concluded that it probably just needed to "get the oil moving in the gears," so I opted to stick it out through the holidays and see what happened. Big mistake. It sputtered out during creaming a batch of sugar cookies. Kitchen Aid is sending me a brand spanking new, and upgraded, model, but no nibbles for Santa and the reindeer this year.
Don't know why everyone is complaining????
Mixer arrived in a timely manner. Everything in the box was in excellent shape. We tested out all the attachments, no problems. We are happy!!! I should say the wife is, because now I don't have to hear her beg for this for Christmas.
