Glad I bought it
I finally have a Kitchenaid mixer. After many failed attempts with my 'other' mixer from egg whites to dough to brownies, I finally have bought a Kitchenaid. I couldn't resist at such a good price on the Friday sale. Although it is reconditioned, mine came in pristine condition with no scratches or marks at all, it looks brand-new. There were a few noted things that I wasn't expecting: 1-the attachment cover isn't "hinged" as the description says, it screws off and on. No big deal to me as I don't expect to buy any other attachments. 2-the flat beater and dough hook were a dull gray metal, not white as every other one of my friends is. Functionally it doesn't matter, but it isn't as pretty. These are the only things I noted that I was "suprised" at when I received it. I don't really care about either, though, and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

What a deal! Why didn't I do this sooner.
I bake a lot as we have food allergies in our family. I just got this mixer from Amazon yesterday. Why didn't I do this sooner? It is so easy to use. I see this changing the whole way I cook. Solid, quick and still with a warranty at a great price. What more could I ask for?

I Can't Believe I Got This Mixer For Such A Great Price!
I received my KitchenAid stand mixer (RRKP50) today. It is the dark grey, factory reconditioned model. It doesn't have a scratch on it anywhere that I could find, and I looked it over well. All attachments were in perfect condition, as well, including the stainless steel bowl, which has no scratches or signs of use. As for the pouring shield--other reviewers have rated these reconditioned models low because of the pouring shield not being included. However, if you read the description of the mixer carefully, it clearly states that the pouring shield is not included. (I will buy one off Ebay if I find I need one--I still will have gotten a great bargain in my mixer!) The grey color is very contemporary. I think it has an "industrial" look to it (which I like). I have black and stainless steel appliances in my kitchen, and the grey goes great with my other appliances. I have already made several things today with the mixer and it works great. It is very powerful and surprisingly quiet. If you have considered buying a KitchenAid mixer, DON'T HESITATE to get this one! You'll never find one for such a terrific price. The 4.5 quart standard model sells for more than this at Wal-Mart, and it doesn't have any special features. I'm very pleased with my purchase!
