Proctor Silex Electric Kettle - Great Product
The Proctor Silex K2070 1-Quart Automatic Electric Kettle, White is a great product. This is as close as it gets to something doing it's job simply and reliably.
I have to say that I have waited for a while to post this review. Part of the reason is that there were many good reviews here already. Another reason is that I wanted to use the product for a while to really make sure it was as good as advertised. Well it is!
Pros:
+ Rapidly boils up to 1 quart of water, I mean FAST
+ Detachable cord lets you remove the kettle for serving
+ Nonspill spout has mesh for a nice pour
+ Automatic shut off when boiling is complete
+ Water-level indicator prevents overfilling
+ Lid comes with locking top for safety
Cons:
- May not boil enough for some needs (only 1 Quart); not a big deal, just boil multiple batches as needed
- Limited color options (white)
The convenience of this is the main benefit over regular boiling or microwaving.
For those who experience spilling, make sure you have not overfilled before boiling!!!
As long as you follow the instructions you should have no problem. This is a great product, and I just wish there were more color options.
Enjoy!
Don't buy it!
Just returned this..no problem with Amazon...but please don't waste your time with this inferior product. The cord is way too short and it spills boiling water all over. I have had an Oster electric kettle for years which is great..this one is poorly designed and cheaply made. Make sure you get a kettle with a base that has the cord in it so you can take the kettle to the cup or bowl.
Item as described. Fast shipping
The product works great, it is small and boils water fast. Great for the office!
excellent product
I bought one of these teapots about 18 months ago and have been using it every day to boil water to use with a French press coffee pot. It is a simple design--no digital displays, no timers, no nothing just an off-on switch. It works beautifully. It takes about 5 minutes to boil a quart of water--about half the time it takes my gas stove. I just bought another one to use at my, summer home. If you want hot water quickly, this is a great choice.
Shorts out
Ugh! From the day I bought it I had to jiggle the cord to keep it on. I'd walk away, waiting for it to boil, only to discover that it was off again.
