Good... but challenging
I love spongebob and have played Battle ofr Bikini Bottom. This one is very difficult. But, I'm in for a challenge. For those of you that like challenges, this is for you. Movie: Really good, Game: Less so The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie game is the greatest game in the UNIVERSE, better than Crash Twinsanity, Sonic Heroes and Tekken 5! All of the above are lies. The movie was extremely good, the game is painfully average. The graphics are fine. Kinda like the Urbz but toned down. A 6/10. Voices: Repeative, SFX: Repeative, Music: Repeative. Sound: Repeative. THQ and Heavy Iron could make the sound a little more impressive. 5/10. The gameplay puts the F in Frustrating. I'm currently stuck at the "Shell city, Dead ahead" level. Two playable characters for your frustration. SpongeBob: Stupid moves. SpongeBowl move is a loser. SonicWave Guitar (SWG) sucks. Repeative! Patrick: Repeative, Repeative, Repeative, Repeative, Repeative, Repeative, Repeative, Repeative, Hugely REPEATIVE!!! Graphics- Characters: 7.5: Repeative animation, cartoony, unfocused. Backrounds: 8.5: Repeative, cartoony but nice. Effects: 3.5: Repeative, hugely repeative and ugly. Sound- Voices: 6.0: Hugely Repeative but original movie cast in place. SFX: 5.5: Repeative, cartoony, average. Effects: 4.5: Repeative, very repeative. Gameplay- SpongeBob: 4.0: Repeative, frustrating, dull. Patrick: 5.5: Repeative, frustrating, average. Patty Wagon: 0.0: Repeative, uncontrollable, very crappy. SWG Challenge: 2.5: Repeative, crappy, tedious. Figthing: 3.5: Repeative, frustrating enemies. Content- Replay Value: 7.5: You play it several times, then return it. Lenght: 9.5: Far too long, far too long, far too long, far... Difficulty: 10: HARD, H-A-R-D! Way too hard. Really hard... Overall- Overall: 4.5: Repeative, repeative, so repeative that the repeativity repeats repeativly. REPEATIVE!!! -FINAL VERDICT- Curiosity killed the cat. Repeativity killed the sponge. Shame. I wanted this to work but this is waaaaaaaaay too repeative to me. Worth a rent. Not worth a buy, unless you are dumb. Do not buy it. Don't buy it! Don't even think about clicking the 'Add to cart' button, avoid it! AVOID IT!!! Buy Ratchet & Clank. Buy Destroy All Humans! Buy Jak 3. Buy whatever. Just not this or Shrek 2. Bye Very Fun I am a 10 year old writting from Guatemala. I bought this game after playing it with a neighbor. I think this game is very fun. It is not so hard as I already got to the end. I highly recommend this game for middle stage players. Rent it, then buy it! First of all I am 13 years old. I think this game is not to hard or not to easy. The gameplay is great and you are always doing different things. I defintaly don't think this game is for real gamers who like the advanced big name games. Harder then battle for bikini bottom If you have played 'battle for bikini bottom' and thought it was fun and you bought this one thinking it will be the same, you'll be in for a Surprise!!! 'Spongebob the Movie game' is a little bit Harder then battle for bikini bottom. I was stuck on some stage for days!!! And I'm a Expert gamer, I've played just about every game out there and have been playing video games before the kids on this review board were even born!!! But my 6 year old had a really hard time driving the crabby patty through the rings and gave up on it. It took me about 10 tries to make it through the rings and 2 weeks to complete the whole game (only playing 1-2 hours every other day). A true game player will complete this game, after throwing the controls on the ground a couple times after doing the same stage 10 times. But for younger players (under age of 8) they'll never get through last 3 stages. I agree that graphics are great, the story line is cute (better then the movie) and it is Very challenging!!! But it is not as exciting as Mermaid Man's layer in Battle for Bikini Bottom. If you haven't played battle for bikini bottom yet, I suggest buying that 1st, it is more fun and easier!! | |
