very, very handy
This charger is great! It plugs into a regular outlet, and you just use your USB cord for your iPod to connect it. It's great for charging in hotel rooms on vacation, or if you don't want to hassle with the computer. Just plug it in. Also good if you want to use your iPod, but it's low on battery, and you don't want to sit by the computer. Just plug it in next to your favorite chair.

Necessary but expensive
I agree with other reviews; It must be included with the iPod. I got my iPod as a gift and ended up paying $100 for two additional items: this power adapter and an iPod camera connector. I do not live in the US and had to pay top dollars for these items. Both work nicely but are expensive. I am traveling for a month and I will not need a computer to recharge my iPod or download pictures to it!

These accesories work but left me with a bad feeling because of the price.
