On average we buy a bakers dozen twice a month and use our bagel guillotine to cut all of the bagels at once and then freeze them. The blade is still fine after 3 years, safe for kids to use, easy to wash (one poster claims to put it in the dishwasher but I thought it says not dishwasher safe on the box and I haven't risked it), I hand wash after each use. It would be great if they had a way to catch crumbs, but it already saves so much time and takes a second to wipe up 50 sesame seeds. I love this product! Bagels This is a great gadget to have if you love fresh bagels and very safe. I have enjoyed it. Everyone Needs A Guillotine! My daughter loves her Bagel Guillotine! She says it's absolutely wonderful for slicing bagels, and it does such a great job that it doesn't even leave crumbs. Fine machine --- but ---- This bagel cutter is everything the manufacturer claims it is but, in my case its of no use!! I buy my bagels from Costco and they are a good bargain; fresh, tasty and uncut. But, when trying to put them in the slicer they are too fat and wont go in without jamming! So I have two fine products that are incompatible. I investigated further and now know that I should have bought the commercial slicer. Works! I got this for someone who only has full use of only one hand (limited use of the other), and she is constantly frustrated in the kitchen (think can openers, slicing bagels, etc.). She says she loves this bagel slicer! Hooray! | |
