perfect cooker
This 5 qt. Dutch Oven is the perfect cooker,for roasts and chicken in the oven to soups and stews on the stovetop. I especially love knowing that Lodge Logic is an American made product. Iron cookware is the healthiest non-stick there is, and it's easy to clean up. I have been using Lodge Logic skillets and lids for years now and am So happy I got this Dutch Oven! This Iron cookware will last a Lifetime and will never have to be replaced again! Iron cookware holds the heat and cooks evenly. Lodge cast-iron like no other Extremely quick delivery. High quality cast-iron from Lodge! I have a skillet from them that I love, and this Dutch oven is of the same caliber quality. Currently I use it for "almost no-knead" bread, and as winter approaches, I'm sure I will be using it for various other dishes. I highly recommend this dutch oven if you're looking for one! Fantastic Pot This 3 quart chicken fryer is the addition I was wanting for my cookware. My larger dutch oven is great for larger uses, but this one is great for things that accomodate my husband and I. I roasted, at 325 degrees, yellow squash, cut into chunks, today and it was fantastic. I cannot praise Lodge cast iron enough for the quality in their products. My next and 4th purchase will be the 10 1/4" skillet. I already have the 13 1/4" skillet and it is fantastic for pancakes and anything that requires large cooking surface. And for you people with ceramic stove tops....NO Problem.... I have done without my cast iron pots since Hurricane Katrina and when replaced all, I got ceramic stovetop. Thought I would not be able to use the iron...but I was missing cooking in my iron pots so much that I took the plunge....NOT A PROBLEM. Just be careful not to slide around and scratch the stovetop...and for goodness sakes don't drop this heavy stuff on it either. If you want perfect bacon, just fry in the cast iron...cannot be beat.....really for anything you want to cook. Thank you Amazon.com for offering these items at such a reasonable cost.... Great! Not only is this great as Dutch ovens go it's good enough that I've expanded my use of the Dutch oven! Five qts is a good size. It's not so large you are going to confuse it with a stock pot, but it's more than large enough for everything I've wanted to use it for. It's heavy enough construction to really hold heat but not so absurdly heavy that it's hard to handle. The MSRP on these makes them one of the best values in the kitchen; the price on Amazon makes it a real steal. No kitchen should be without one. I threw it in the garbage!!! I read the reviews and thought that this was "just what I needed". The shipping was fine, the product WAS horrible. I tried the pre-fixing before I made my soup in it. The soup was okay (Lentil) but then it never got clean again. I tried re-oiling the cast iron and that made it worse. It was rusted and never got any better. Besides this, it was as heavy as lead. I could barely lift it to take it off the stove. I asked a couple of friends what to do and/or if they wanted it. No way! So, I threw it out!! Good riddens!!! | |
