it works good
Its not the easiest thing to use. But it does work. Its difficult to read the little screen. In the car its nearly impossible to read. I need my reading glasses to read it. BUT I can add songs and delete songs easily using the PC and it plays well. I mainly use it in the car with a cassette
adapter, and thats working out fine. A battery lasts a reasonable amount of time. You have to make sure you get it turned off, if youre turning it off and hold the button too long it turns back on and you waste some battery power. I used the menu options to have it shut itself off after an hour so thats the maximum juice I will waste. You can get into the menus and adjust many settings such as how long the light stays on, on the little screen, I upped it to 20 seconds. I wish the light would come on briefly when shutting it down, that would make it easy to see if its really off. I just go thru my playlist from beginning to end. Trying to use the joy(less) button thingie while driving to get to another album is asking for trouble, its just not the thing to do, not for me anyways and I am pretty handy with devices like this. Ive had it several months and it still works fine.

2 years later, it runs like a swiss watch
Long battery life, sound quality, menu system, durability, and a cheap unit for the gym. No problems here, but get better ear-phones.

Very disappointing
Have had this model for about a year and it is one of the most exasperating products ever. It does not do what it is supposed to do. Controls do not do what directions say they do. Every process is a trial and error- FM, recording, downloading. Other SanDisk products have been good, but not this one - big mistake.

Great mp3 player :-)
This mp3 player is really great. The sound quality is great, it comes with an easy to use voice recorder, and FM radio. I never go anywhere without this. The controls could be better, but you get used to it. I like the key hold button which is really great for running. THIS IS ALSO A GREAT MP3 PLAYER FOR BEGGINERS. It is incredibly easy to use (and because I'm only 14). It is also easy to plug in to your computer.
I have a few things to pick at about the "stuff" that comes with it. The musicmatch software sucks! I tried to download songs so I didn't have to go out and buy CD's, and the computer said our internet connection was broken. After making sure our connection was fine, I tried again. Same thing. My aunt and grandfather (who will always outshine me when it comes to electronics) also purchased musicmatch software and experienced the same problem. They couldn't figure out how to buy the songs from this software. On top of tthis we were CHARGED for the music we never got! I HIGHLY RECCOMEND REAL PLAYER SOFTWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is easy to use, cheap, easy to download, and delete.
The earbuds that come with it stink (but most do) an I am currently using gel earbuds which are cheap, cool looking, VERY COMFORTAPLE, never fall out(many people experience problems with this, just put 'em in your ear and twist forward), and have great sound quality. They do tangle a little, but nothing's perfect.
These pros and cons are mostly of the stuff that comes with it. I am only reviewing the mp3 player! I highly reccomend this player and I hope this review was helpful. If you for some reason don't like the idea of this player I would reccomend the Sandisk Sansa, which also comes with musicmatch software, but I still put real player over musicmatch.

handy and strong
bought this just to have some music at the office and in the gym. had it about a year now, no complaints. i do recommend tossing the earbuds. they are uncomfortable and the sound is so-so. I replaced them with some Sony behind the ear type phones for nine dollars at Best Buy. Sound is about the a little better, but the comfort is hundred times better. the fm is surprisingly good. the voice recorder is extra baggage imho. this player came with an armband carrier and everything I needed. Battery life is very good. the controls aren't too friendly, but they don't take too long to master. it's been banged around a little, including riding on a handlebar mount of my motorcycle, with no ill affects. If you want a good, inexpensive player, that holds about 5 or 6 hours of tunes, this is a viable candidate.
