Don't bother...
I purchased 4 of these lids as holiday gifts and upon inspection, promptly returned them. First, the packaging was horrible. Amazon had put the lids in a huge box with almost no protection and ALL of the lids arrived scratched. Unfortunately, even if they had been well packed, the quality of the lids was very poor. I believe that in life, you get what you pay for, but this was a rip-off. The quality was so cheap - two of the plastic handles were broken and jammed and the other two looked like they wouldn't last either. This is the kind of low-quality product you would expect to find at the 99 cent store... even then, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't buy them. Don't waste your time/money. The only lid for fry pans! This lid has eliminated all my other lids single handedly! It has a steam release option on the top and I used it on all my fry pans or big pans. It fits the biggest fry pan I own which is 12 1/2 inches wide! I love this lid and it is so sturdy there is no doubt in my mind that it will be the last lid I ever have to purchase in this life time! great easy to use don't have to look for right lid just grab this one and it fits most of my pots OK, but... Inherently, the lid is fine, especially for the price. But when it arrived, I discovered that there is a little plastic pin which is molded on the bottom of the knob and is intended to follow a slot cut into the cover as the knob pivots. The little pin was broken off and rolling around in the bottom of the box, so the knob doesn't pivot smoothly, and wobbles around. Obviously, this is not the manufacturers fault... the packaging was horrible, the lid was jammed into the bottom of a box that had NO extra room, the lid was literally wedged down flat into the bottom, and a few of those air bag packaging things thrown in on top. For the $10 that it cost, it's not worth the hassle of sending it back, and it is still serviceable, but certainly not optimal. Sorry, Amazon, but you blew it on this one. I realize that Internet competition dictates that businesses have to be cost conscious, but this quality of packaging is horrendous. And it's not the first time, although in the other cases, there was either no or very minor damage to the merchandise. Good for the money! I was worried that this cover was not going to be big enough but it actually was a little too big. It's a good cover though, but I would have probably preferred a glass pan cover to watch food cook. Overall this will definitely do the trick! | |
