Not bad -- just wish the coffee was hotter
My wife and I love to wake up to hot coffee every morning. We used to own a Braun coffee maker with a timer, and it worked well for us for many years. When it finally bit the dust, we pulled out a Gevalia coffee maker that we got for free. We hated it, mainly because it was difficult to fill without splashing water over the kitchen counter, and the coffee just wasn't as hot as our old Braun. I did quite a bit of research online, and used the reviews from Amazon and Consumer Reports to decide which coffee maker to buy next. I settled on this one, mainly because I bought the scaled down version (without the timer) to use at work and it was easy to fill and clean. My wife and I do enjoy this one, but the coffee just isn't as hot as what came out of our old one. It is easy to use, and does a reasonably good job. Setting the timer is straightforward. The only other criticism I have is I wish it made 12 cups. Braun KF590 Coffeemaker Our old Braun coffeemaker had died and I went out and bought a different brand maker which did not satisfy me at all; so I returned it and got this Braun with which I am very happy. Simply put, it makes good coffee and has features that are just about perfect for the family. Repeat buyer Had to replace my original after 6 years, when it ultimately refused to heat [I suspect that hard, untreated water invites element failure, as it does in electric water heaters. I stopped replacing the outrageously expensive filters about mid-way through it's life]. I like this unit for it's overall quality, small footprint and noticably hotter coffee than the others I've tried. Actually paid less for the replacement than for the original [including shipping -which seemed a little high] Great value, great coffee Nothing fancy, just makes good coffee. Using it for an office; it makes several pots a day and is still going strong. In my opinion, cone filters just make better tasting coffee. The gold foil reusable filter basket is nice, but I still use paper filters to make clean-up easier. Braun coffeemaker Great coffee maker, very easy. The coffee is a bit weak, but we're working on it. Make sure you buy strong coffee for it. | |
