Product Description

The most anticipated story in the blockbuster Dark-Hunter series. The never-before-revealed story of the Dark-Hunter leader, Acheron.  He was made human in order to escape death, but in death he was reborn a god. . .

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he’ll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.

Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both.

War has never been more deadly... or more fun.

What Others Say

Recommend you read it, but get it from the library
I give the writer credit for the way she told Ash's story in the two parts. I don't see how it could have been done any other way. Saying that, the first part was overkill and the second part was lame.

The first part, telling about Acheron's human life was actually great starting out, but because it went on too long and went to extremes it became unbelievable after awhile. I was like "OK enough already, I get it."

The present day second part where he meets Tory and falls in love was typical everyday Dark Hunter plotting, no different than the prior books except it WAS Acheron and the heroine should have been a stronger person. But then again I have the same opinion of all J.R. Ward's BDB heroines and her books are ... Read More

OMG
When I first picked up Acheron (Dark-Hunter, Book 12) I could not believe that it was +730 pages. I began to read it and I started to understand why Mrs. Kenyon did this, it went above and beyond answering all of my questions about the love and heart of the DH family, Acheron. He is big he is bad and he is gorgeous. The first part of the book answered all of the questions about his past (I could not stop reading this part). I wanted to cry and I wanted to pummel somebody, Ash definitely went through some things. Then in the second part Ash falls in love and I could not help but cheer for the big guy. Overall it is one of the best books of the series, I love them all. Great read.

One of Kenyons best
Acheron (Dark-Hunter, Book 12) explains alot & good insight into one of the most mysterious characters, Ash. Literally read it in under a few days because it was just that good. She makes good use of bringing back a lot of characters from previous books. Keeps to her trademark of bringing romance, good plot & witty humor-which is why she one of the top!

A real page-turner!
I very rarely purchase hardback books at full price. This one I couldn't resist! If you've read any of Ms. Kenyon's other Dark Hunter Novels you might feel the same. Though her hot fantasies do stand alone, there is an over-arching theme in which the character Acheron is central. When I saw Acheron (Dark-Hunter, Book 12) at the store, I snatched it up fast and, once home, pushed other reading material aside for this one. Oh, yeah. It's good!

Acheron is the son of two Atlantean gods, Archon and Apollymi. According to prophecy, the son of this union would be the death of Atlantis, so Archon orders the child killed before it is even born. In haste, Apollymi delivers her child and sends it to the human realm to grow up, without its godly powers so he'll ... Read More
