Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionThe New York Times bestselling movie guide from a household name in film criticism

Consulted more frequently than ever in this era of Netflix as the resource, Leonard Maltin’s New York Times bestselling film guide remains the most complete, most reliable, and most authoritative resource for movie reviews. Including nearly 17,000 films, the 2009 edition features more than 300 new entries, a completely updated index of leading actors and directors, and Leonard’s personal favorite films.

What Others Say

Great book for film buffs
Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide is the perfect reference book for anyone who enjoys movies. Each review rates the movie, lists the director and major players and provides a short synopsis of the story. There's also a film biography for most major actors and actresses. You'll find yourself turning to Leonard Maltin's 2009 Movie Guide (Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide) again and again. It makes a very good gift, too - one that friends definitely appreciate.

Great movie reviews, but too small print
I buy Maltin's Movie Guide every four years. When it arrived this year I was shocked at the much smaller size, thus smaller print. Does Leonard Maltin's 2009 Movie Guide (Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide) come in more than 1 size? I would be willing to pay the extra price for the larger book. I don't need glasses to read, but for this new edition I need a magnifying glass! I love the reviews and rely on them when deciding which movies to watch on TV.

Indispensible reference guide you will constantly refer to.
Believe it or not this is the first time I have ever purchased a Leonard Maltin Movie Guide. This is the 30th edition of the guide that was first published way back in 1969 and it is now updated annually. "Leonard Maltin's 2009 Movie Guide" features 17,000+ entries including more than 300 brand new ones. Just in case you have not run across Leonard Maltin's 2009 Movie Guide (Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide) before the films are listed in alphabetical order and provide you with such pertinent information as the year of release, running time, the director, the major stars of the film and whether it was filmed in color or black and white. Maltin then goes on to give an ever-so-brief synopsis and review of the film and and rates the film on a scale of one to four stars which the worst films designated ... Read More

For a limited demographic
I bought this for my father, but he was unhappy with the small print. Next time I'm trying "Videohound."

F#@k Leonard Maltin.....JK
This is definitely a good buy, but there is one ridiculous fact about Leonard Maltin's 2009 Movie Guide (Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide): They give the RIDICULOUSLY overrated movie 2001: A Space Odyssey four stars and give movies like The Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump two and a half. The reason they gave for giving this rating to Forrest Gump was something about how dumb it is that he was on-hand for all these events in history. HELLO? That's the whole comedic point of the movie! Anyway, it's still a definite good book to have, that was the only problem I had with it.
