What Others Say

Small, but excellent
I'm so happy this came up one day as 'recommended for me.' Yes, the book is small, but every recipe I've tried, and I've tried most of them, is a winner. Nice variations on the baked goods too. It's a space-saving little gem. Don't be deceived - lots of books with 2 or 3 times the pages don't have as many go-to recipes as you'll find here.

pamphlet, not book
Quite charming, but I think it is only fair for potential buyers to know that this is more pamphlet than book, with only 36 pages of recipes. The price may be a bit much for what you get - I am not disappointed with the recipes, but am disappointed with having paid "book" price for what is, essentially, a glossy pamphlet.

glad cow not so great
I was so excited to receive this cookbook after reading other reviews and was so sadly disappointed that I returned it. It is so very basic in its flavors and recipes. It reminded me of every vegetarian, economical recipe I made for myself as a poor college student 15 years ago. The Glad Cow Cookbook is not for someone who enjoys looking for the next best recipe with fabulous blends of flavors and textures. It is basic at best and will get you fed. In addition it was the tiniest little thing with so few overall recipes.

Nice, simple recipes
The Glad Cow Cookbook is little (only 64 pages) but it has some very good recipes in it.
I LOVE the lentil soup with vegetarian sausage, the lemon garlic pasta, and the white bean spread. So good and soooo easy!
I found the cornbread recipe to be a little dry, and the chili recipe a little bland, but it could easily be spiced up a bit. I've made a quarter of the recipes in The Glad Cow Cookbook and I'm yet to come across a "dud".
I think this cookbook would be especially good for a beginner cook or a new vegetarian or vegan.

Excellent Vegan Baked Goods!
This is a lovely Vegan Cookbook. Mrs. Keightley has done an excellent job of showing the true yumminess that vegan baking has to offer. She has numerous coffee-cake recipes, one for everyones differing tastes as well as cookies and garlic bread to die for (okay so thats not a baked good, try it anyhoo!) I personally LOVED LOVED LOVED the Apple coffee-cake, moist and delicious. Try The Glad Cow Cookbook you will not be dissappointed!
