This is a serious reference book for those interested in leading edge alternative medicine. Although one might not pair up Suzanne Sommers with serious medicine-she has assembled an impressive team of physicians with sound advice.



a great book to study for health issues
I saw Suzanne Somers being interviewed on a talk show about her new book, "Breakthrough: Eight Steps to Wellness." The one thing that she said on the show that really caught my attention was about this vitamin called aldosterone, which one doctor says can heal loss of hearing. I was so hopeful, so I had my daughter buy the book for me. We found out that the vitamin-- or whatever it is --is a mystery ingredient. My daughter looked it up on the internet and couldn't find much about it. That part was a big disappointment, but I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the book overall.

Her list of eight steps are pretty basic in promoting good health:
1. Detox the chemicals out of your body

Steps Way Too Expensive!
Breakthrough: Eight Steps to Wellness contains such incredible information and is mostly right on when compared with other natural health books. If we could all apply these steps with consistency, there's no doubt that we'd all be a healthier people.

I could only give Breakthrough: Eight Steps to Wellness 2 stars though because there is absolutely NO WAY an average American can afford all these steps. Other reviewers have mentioned this as well. I wish there were things/ways she could suggest to be able to even attempt this kind of lifestyle. It is simply out of reach for anyone who is not wealthy. The detox therapies alone are thousands of $$$...

Wealth of information
I am a registered nurse and have spent many hours reading and re-reading sections of Breakthrough: Eight Steps to Wellness. For all the wonderful new medical breakthroughs out there, there are also some that are outdated and "broken". Money unfortunately has distorted some. Suzanne Somers is a brave pioneer and I appreciate that someone has finally come forward with the truth about our current health system. I have passed Breakthrough: Eight Steps to Wellness on to those I love in hopes that they take responsibility for their own health and become proactive supporting alternative medicine. Read the obits every morning. People are dying much too young.
