Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionEight medals, including six gold and two bronze. Michael Phelps used the Olympic Games in Athens as his breakout event. Already known in the swimming world for the summer of 2003 when he set seven world records in 41 days, Michael's record-tying medal haul made him a mainstream name. He's well on his way to his ambitious goal of ''changing the sport of swimming,'' but despite Michael's pre-eminence in the pool, his story is not a swimming diary but a take of adversities overcome and redemption through persistence.

Beneath the Surface, a Biography about and by Michael Phelps. Reading Michael Phelps: Beneath the Surface really made me start to think about my life. About how much I want to accomplish and how much is realistically in my reach. Before I read this biography I thought my dreams were out of control but after I read Michael Phelps: Beneath the Surface I realized that anything you want and put your heart too you can accomplish. Michael Phelps is an amazing guy and reading about his life really made me think about how I'm holding myself back from achieving my complete potential. I would suggest Michael Phelps: Beneath the Surface to everyone. Honestly I'm not a big reader and most of the time when I have to read a book I'm forced to finish. Michael Phelps: Beneath the Surface on the other hand I wanted to complete. ... Read More

Good Read
This was a very interesting book. I did sometimes find myself day dreaming when reading his pr & wr times. I'm sure the times would be more interesting to a swimmer as I am not. But overall I thought this was a really good book.

great read
This is a great read. My swimming granddaughter used Michael Phelps: Beneath the Surface as a report and she really enjoyed reading about Michael's life from his prospective.

Great Read of a Personal Story.
This is a good read. There is a little bit of swimming jargon that the non-swimming fan may get caught up in- but the story so surpasses that - so you don't notice much.

Dreadful
Started swimming a bit and taking notice of athletes... this one is a bore. Boy starts swimming. Boy is great from the start. Boy gets gold.

Whoopty doo..
