Native American legend tells of thirteen life-size crystal skulls said to contain crucial information about humankind’s true purpose and destiny. The legend prophesied that one day, at a time of great crisis for humanity, all thirteen crystal skulls would be rediscovered and brought together to reveal information vital to the very survival of the human race. To date several skulls have been discovered.
This book is the definitive guide to the facts and legends that inspired the May 2008 movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It explores what these mysterious crystal skulls are, where they came from, and what they may have to offer. The book follows Chris Morton and Ceri Louise Thomas on their journey of discovery from the ancient temples of the Maya to the British Museum, the Smithsonian, and to the crystal laboratories of Hewlett-Packard, where scientific tests on one of the skulls--made from the same quartz crystal used in today’s computers--lead to the conclusion, “This skull shouldn’t even exist.” Their journey also leads to Native shamans and elders who reveal the sacred knowledge and vital information that these skulls hold about coming Earth changes and humanity’s imminent destiny.
What Others Say
Very good
This is the best book I've read in a long time. I expected it to focus solely on the crystal skulls, and it did to an extent, but it also has a wealth of historical information. Very interesting, and I was disappointed when I came to the end, because I wanted to keep reading more.
Good information
This is very well written. It provides information on the crystall skulls from a wide variety of people, legends and places. It's hard to put down.
Fascinating
Saw the movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and had no idea there were actual crystal skulls of mysterious origin. Somehow I ran across The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls: Unlocking the Secrets of the Past, Present, and Future and figured I should read it.
In a nutshell, it seems we have several crystal skulls around the world that nobody can explain how they were made. Hmmm, sounds a bit like the great pyramid(s) and other ancient structures. Lots of myths surround the skulls, attributes of healing powers, etc.
An interesting read. Kinda wonder where the authors got the $$ to gallop around the globe to investigate the skulls.
Keep an open mind and you might be surprised!
What I liked most was just how readable The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls: Unlocking the Secrets of the Past, Present, and Future was. I've read very few non fiction books that made me turn the pages as often. I came across The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls: Unlocking the Secrets of the Past, Present, and Future after having a look to see what Amazon had on the Indiana Jones movies. I was keen to find out just how much fact there was to crystal skulls, having never heard of them before. Needless to say this is a very comprehensive book on the subject.
As you get further and further into the book you also have to keep a very open mind as far as some of the theories and subject matter goes. While I'm not completely convinced about some of the more outlandish theories, I found the book very interesting none the less. In any case there's only a few years to one of the pivotal points of the ... Read More
Good for those that do not know about Crystal Skulls
For me The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls: Unlocking the Secrets of the Past, Present, and Future was a hard book to put down. It reads like a mystery book, your never sure what is going to happen next or where the writers are going to end up next. I feel it is an amazing ride with the writers into the world of the crystal skull world. They meet many different people with just as many different types of opinions on the subject of crystal skulls. I feel this is a good read for anyone who is wondering about the crystal skulls and some history too.
