What Others Say

Good Radio
I really liked the radio but in my new office I get poor reception because of our wireless network.

Best commercial AM radio ever made
I'm 65, and a USN communications veteran. So I know what's good and what's bad.

Forget all those cheap Chinese radios with digital tuners that have God knows what for input impedance. Forget Radio Shack and their combination short wave AM/FM. This is the best AM radio ever made. It is as good as the old Hammarlund, Hallicrafters, and NCRs. They were tube radios, the tubes needed replacement, then the IFs needed realignment. This is transistor. It doesn't wear out.

I don't have a scope or sig gen to make a signal to noise radio check, but I can tell this has a very sensitive RF amp. You string a 100 foot longwire to this radio, and you'll be able to pull in half the country. I'm paying 130/year for XM to listen to Tankee ... Read More

High Performance and Great Audio.
Tuner Reception and audio are as good as anything else including the CC Radio..Where it comes up short is the build quality and the lack of precision when using the the tuner scale..If you treat it carefully and don't mind the lack of a precise digital tuner it can't be beat for the money..

Careful, it melts!
I bought the original version of this radio back in the late 70s. We've had this one for over two years. It's a great basic radio with loud enough sound for shop/work use. We left it in the Vegas sun and it melted the case a little. It still works!

Old Fashsion -- mediocore reception
I bought this a while back for the garage and was fairly disappointed. It uses old tuning technology and the station would continually drift. The sound was ok, but a little bassy. I'm guessing a lot of people buy it for nostalgic reasons. I ended up selling it.
