Loud & Leaky
This humidifier is loud, the white noise could be soothing to some, but annoying for other people. The reason I am rating this with a 2 because it leaked a HUGE puddle of water the second night I used it. I returned this humidifier and went with theFuijitronic FB-602 Ultrasonic Humidifier with Built-in Ionizer and haven't had a single problem. Our toddler also loves the little bear design.
Great for about a year - breaks easily
If we want quiet, the 2 low modes are almost silent. If we want white noise to drown out house noise, the highest mode is loud, but not irritatingly so.
With our poor water quality, have to replace the filters about every 6 months or so, or they get this nasty pink mold junk on them. But the filters are about $10, vs this unit about $30.
Biggest complaint is the tiny plastic "threads" that hold on the seal. First one broke about 6 months in. Second one broke today - now it leaks and makes a mess, since there's one tiny plastic thing holding the seal. And of course, you can't just replace the tank.
works very well
i have had this running nonstop for a little over a year now and i have zero complaints. the fan is very quiet, the tank is easy to fill, the filter is easy to change and there is no moisture build-up or white dust on furniture in my daughter's room. it can be taken apart to clean. a long reach #15 torx wrench is required to remove the screws that hold the fan housing together. the tank and water tray require no tools to take apart and clean. i would recommend this to anyone.
DONT EVER BUY A VICKS HUMIDIFIER
this is the second Vicks humidifier I have waisted my money on. from day one out of the box they leak, the mechanics break within a year and sometimes they decide to shut off for no reason or you need to bang on them to get them started. yes, they give you a waranty but who the hell has the time to deal with sending this thing back to the manufactuer and why should you have to?
There are pleanty of companies that make good humidifiers. Vicks should stick to what it does well. Cough drops
V3500 did not work at all for me.
Tried five times to get this machine to work. What is said above is true if the water doesn't flow over the bottom of the tank and motor and the carpet and pad and cabinet and wherever I tried to set it on a flat surface.
check this one out at the store before bringing it home or put it in a high sided large baking sheet with cat litter underneath it.
I was terribly disappointed in the operation of this item.
