Not bad for the money
I purchased this set as a reasonably priced alternative to All Clad.
Pros: Reasonable cost, complete set looks good hanging on your pot rack
Cons: 8" fry pan is prone to tipping when empty, e.g. when being heated with only a little oil in preparation for searing. The glass lids are heavy and the perimeter metal not well finished. The copper stripe around the base is for decoration only and has started to peel off on one of my pots.
Conclusion: Not a bad set but for the serious cook it makes more sense to buy individual pans suited for the different cooking needs. Stainless is best for browning, searing, and pan frying. It's definitely not non-stick so if you like eggs over easy, better buy a non-stick ... Read More
Great cookware!
I love this cookware! It took a bit of adjusting for me to get used to stainless vs. non-stick but I'm glad I made the switch!
Frankly Emeril, I don't give a BAM!
I received this cookware set from my wedding registry after comparing and contrasting what seemed like ENDLESS sets of pots and pans. I could not be more DISAPPOINTED in my choice. Two words for you Emeril: Plastic Stickers.
I have had the cookware for about a week and a half and have not even been able to use it yet, because the superglue used to affix the warning stickers to the INSIDE of the pots will NOT come off. I have soaked (for a week), I have dishwashed, I have used several pot-safe scrubbing solutions . . . NOTHING. Still gluey residue that I am not eager to feed my future husband. On EVERY SINGLE PIECE.
I moved all my meat to the freezer because it simply cannot wait around in the fridge for these pots to get their ... Read More
Now, we're cookin'!
I was a bit leery about getting a brand-name set of pots and pans, wondering how much of our money was going to the materials and how much for the "auteur." But our new Emeril 10-piece pot and pan set is everything that this amateur cooking family wants in cookware. The see-through tops make it easy to check on the progress of our meals. The pans are well-balanced, heat evenly, feel solid and and are capacious. The set is easy to clean, whether in the dishasher or by hand. The pieces are also handsome, and fit together fairly well when stored. So far, they have kept their shine. After a month or two of use, we have not regretted getting them.
One more thing. For cooking omelets, the entire pan can go into the oven, since the handles ... Read More
Help with Stain removal please!
I just got the 3qt Emerilware stainless steel saucepan. I like the way it looks, and I like the positive reviews. I come from years of non-stick pan usage, and am a rookie with stainless steel. No instructions were in the box with the new pan, and I didn't realize that I need to keep the heat on low and increase it slowly. I kept the heat on medium and used non-stick spray. In any event, I now have a thin layer of brown stain on the bottom of the pan that I cannot remove. I tried scrubbing with soap and a nylon abrasive sponge. That didn't work. Then I tried boiling a combination of water and vinegar in the pan for about 15 minutes. That helped slightly, but most of the film is still stuck to the bottom of the pan. The next thing I want to try is ... Read More
