Awesome teakettle
This teakettle is wonderful. I've had it four years at least, with no problems. It boils water much faster than the squat cuisinart electric kettle.
Overall very happy
I have used this item every morning since I received it a few weeks ago. I love the fact that it is not nuked water. This makes me feel that I am doing something better for myself. The only thing that would be considered a negative would be that when pouring the hot water into a cup, the steam comes out at such an angle that you can burn your hand...just be aware of this and you can adjust your hand placement accordingly. I love Cuisinart CJK-17BC Cordless Electric Jug Kettle, Brushed Stainless Steel!!
Fast Tea
I am an addicted tea drinker, both hot and iced, and this electric kettle "suits me to a tee." It boils the water quickly and has excellent safety features. The only negative is the measuring window is not easily viewable. I recommend this Kettle .
Warning!
I've never had the urge to write a review of anything before but Cuisinart CJK-17BC Cordless Electric Jug Kettle, Brushed Stainless Steel has been a nightmare for us. We are on our third replacement from Cuisinart in less than 2 years and this fourth unit just died on us. Each time it was something different that broke or quit. Cuisinart is a high-end brand but the design & quality of Cuisinart CJK-17BC Cordless Electric Jug Kettle, Brushed Stainless Steel are both terrible. Caveat emptor.
I'll never buy another Cuisinart product
This WAS a great kettle, until it broke after only 10 months. The unit now constantly turns on and off and takes forever to heat the water. No wonder Amazon sells a REMANUFACTURED version of this kettle. Since I had nothing to lose, I disassembled the unit to debug the problem. To my amazement, this $70 unit employed NO electronics, just a poorly constructed mechanical relay tripped by a bi-metal sensor. The contacts were fouled and the contact arms were warped resulting in very high resistance. I managed to get it working again, but who knows how long that will last? This is only the latest in a string of Cuisinart product failures. Their engineering, quality control, and customer service, once rock solid (we have a 1982 food processor that ... Read More
