Amazon.com ReviewThis saucepot is a cookware staple that may very well be used every night of the week. The large 6-1/2-quart size can cook a substantial one-pot meal of chili, simmer large quantities of tomato sauce, or simply boil pasta for a family of four--with leftovers to spare.
As part of Calphalon's Commercial Nonstick line of cookware, this saucepot is made of heavy-gauge aluminum that's uniformly thick across the bottom and sides, allowing for quick and even heat distribution. The exterior of this pan is nonporous and won't chip, crack, or peel over time. The pan's interior has an advanced nonstick coating that is scratch-resistant (with the use of plastic or wooden utensils) and cleans easily. The patented cast stainless-steel handles are comfortable to grip and minimize heat transfer so they stay cool on the stovetop. Handles are held in place by three sturdy stainless-steel rivets. The tight-fitting lid is constructed of durable stainless steel and is domed to seal in moisture as food cooks. All cookware in Calphalon’s Commercial Nonstick line is oven-safe up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Did not hold up
I bought this pan about a year ago and have been very happy with its size and how things cook. However, the inside bottom has become pitted. I have never used metal utensils or put this pan in the dishwasher. I am very disappointed with the way it held up. Expected more of Calphalon.
nice addition
The only reason i didn't give this gorgeous pot a 5 is because the lid doesn't have a tight fit. Rather, it sits atop the pot allowing steam to escape. Other than that, i'm very pleased with my purchase.
Might be good, if it was not damaged
We ordered it from Amazon and the pot was severely ovel (not round) which makes it tough to use. And of course Amazon's dodgy return policy and inability to replace a product that is defective.
So buyer beware. The price is great, the customer service around here is a little suspect.
Great pot, but one problem
I've had this for a month, it's great. i love stewing, and the size is perfect for me. however, the handles and lid do get hot, so remember to put on gloves or wrap the handles with a rag before moving the pot around.
You will be assimilated by this pot!
Having expended large amounts of energy to clean and scrub my regular saucepots, I found this one to be extremely easy to care for. Quality is first class for this Ohio made Calphalon. Heats evenly making the simmering/stewing process a snap. I have been assimilated by Calphalon.
