Works just like the one that broke
There are two different carafes that look the same, so make sure you get the right one. I went on the Cuisinart website to make sure I was getting the correct one. When I purchased this item it said it would take two weeks to ship out, but it actually came within two weeks.

This replacement carafe is identical to the one we accidentally broke. It is wonderful, for it contains the very coffee we love to drink. We wash it out daily, fill it with pristine clear water, transfer the water to the bin of the coffee maker, return the carafe to its perch under the filter, and hit the switch. The carafe collects the freshly brewed coffee just as the instructions says it will. Then we pour ourselves deliciously brewed and stored coffee right into our favorite mugs. Could not be any easier. Yes, we are very pleased with the 12 Cup Replacement Carafe in Black.
Outrageous
I took previous reviewers advice and ordered generic replacement carafe from Total Vac. The way I go through carafes, I needed a less expensive alternative. Thanks for the info on Total vac
Oh No You Di-n't!
When the carafe that came with my coffee-maker broke, I was hesitant to spend $25 on a replacement.
But when I read some of the glowing reviews, and one in particular, I felt secure in making the purchase. Churchill Barton's review painted a scene I could not resist, but now I look back at it with a new clarity.

This one didn't. My original carafe was quite noticable when it cracked apart upon bumping into my imitation wood kitchen cabinet. It went from a carafe to a piece of garbage in 1 second flat, and my inability to make a cup of java rendered me useless the rest of the day.

worked perfect for my coffee maker
Being somewhat naturally clumsy, I tend to break carafes for coffee makers. While I wish that this replacement was less expensive, it is exactly what I needed after inadvertently breaking the previous one by smacking it into the sink while cleaning it. The only reason that it gets a 4 star rating is that in my opinion, this shouldn't cost $25, but about half that.
