So so for storage
The shelves are somewhat flimsey, and can only support one or two sweaters. For the amount of space the unit takes up in the closet, you might as well just put sweaters on a shelf. The unit does what it promises though, and makes the closet look neat and organized.

I purchased this when i first moved to philly for school cuz i had a small room with very small closet space. That was on june, 24 2005. i used it in that apartment, moved downtown and had more closet space in my new apartment but i liked using this so i coninued using this and never got a dresser. Now, i've graduated from college, got a job that required me to move to a city not far from PA and i brought it to my new apartment in baltimore and i was able to hang it up again. i've more closet space than i've ever had but i'm so used to using this i just have to hang it up. Product has been downgraded - picture misleading
This review is to let potential buyers know that Whitney Design 01812 6-Shelf Canvas Sweater Organizer has changed from its original design, and yet at the time of this review neither the picture, nor the Product Features, nor the Amazon.com review have been updated to reflect the change.
I bought one of these in Dec. 2004 and it is exactly as pictured with canvas shelves. When you feel the shelves, you can tell that they have hardboard sandwiched between them making a durable surface that does not sag. I just purchased a second one and opened it today (May 2008) and while the top is still canvas-covered hardboard, the shelves are now plastic.

Product is fine, but shipping is not free!
Whitney Design 01812 6-Shelf Canvas Sweater Organizer advertised free shipping, but I got a note from the post office saying that shipping was due upon receipt.
WORKS GREAT
for dorm life it works great because you can really pack a lot of stuff into it.
