Product DescriptionBamboo steamers are typically used for cooking Chinese dim sum, but have many virtues that make them handy for all types of food. The domed lid traps steam efficiently and the two baskets can be stacked to accommodate different foods in each level. These steamers are usually used inside a wok (be sure your wok is about 2'' wider than the 6'' baskets) but can also be set over a stockpot.

Why I like my old one better
Good qualitly, but...
My older one had bamboo handles that hung at the top of my pot. My older one was SLIGHTLY bigger, allowing me to easily steam corn that was broken in 2. It looks like I am back to World Market again to replace my 10-year-old broken bamboo steamer. (This one will never get the chance to get broken by me for as little as I use it.)
new to steaming
this works great for someone new to steaming. Later I will probably get a bigger one. Have used this for veggies & fish. Clean-up is easy and the size works for a single person. Thanks for a quality product.
6" Joyce Chen Bamboo Steamer
This is the third steamer I have purchased. One for each of my daughters, and one for me to use on our boat, as I have the large bamboo steamer for home use. Steaming is the only way to prepare vegetables, and this petite size is perfect for two.
