Perfect!
There aren't many if any purchases that I've made that I've used more and been happier with than this one! I've used this infuser for approximately 3 years now for everything from green tea, to rooibos, to various mixtures of herbs. I find the the holes in the side are plenty small enough to accommodate just about any tea adequately. If you want ABSOLUTELY ZERO material to get through, then use a bag, not a metal infuser, and enjoy your inferior tasting tea. The construction is VERY durable stainless steel that comes clean like new whenever it's put into the dish washer.
The big advantage to Bodum Yo Yo Tea Infuser With Lid, Stainless Steel over one of those tea balls is that it leaves plenty of room for the tea leaves to expand and swirl about in your cup, brewing ... Read More
No more teabags, make a cup or a pot, even decaf 2nd run!
This revolutionized, streamlined, and improved my tea options: no more paper waste, paper bleaching, and packaging from teabags (not to mention poor flavor), and no more need to make a pot if I want only a cup and vice versa: this infuser makes a whole pot as easily as a single cup, with no mess or fuss.
It also enables me to make decaf tea from the same leaves, without worrying about chemical processes, because caffeine is very water-soluble, so most of the caffeine goes into the first batch of tea, and if you don't oversteep, there will be enough flavor left for a second cup or pot! So a comforting evening cuppa without it keeping me up all night, from the same leaves. Frugal, healthy, and no waste. This has really made it possible ... Read More
Good product... Haven't found anything better that's washable
If you want to spend the time and money continually buying your own paper bags, putting your teas in there, go for it. Probably going to be a little better than this.
If your looking for a loose tea solution that's dish-washable, this is as good as it gets. I've tried the tea-balls, and other products... they don't do it. This does, plus it IS actually very hand that the lid doubles as a bottom for the infuser so you don't get your counter/table wet.
Only downside as stated, for very small loose teas with lots of sediment... not really going to work, you need a bag. But that's just it, usually most are going to be brewing the larger size leaf loose teas with this, so you shouldn't have a problem if you plan to use this for ... Read More
just what I was looking for
I was looking for a stainless steel infuser for loose tea. This is perfect, fits nicely
inside a 10-16 ounce mug, and it has no plastic parts. It is made in China
so I wonder about purity of materials, but otherwise it's great. I like eliminating all the
extra paper, string etc with bagged tea. It is thin metal and can dent slightly, but that's
not a problem and they can be straightened out easily. Also, very fine tea can escape a
bit, but again, no big deal to me. Overall, I'm very pleased with this and after much looking,
this was the only all metal infuser that I could find.
Cheap and flimsy
This filter should be sold in a cheap hardware store for $2 top. It is of such poor quality, I am surprised Bodum put its name on it. Mine arrived without the lid but with dents - it is made of a very soft material that is hardly stainless steel. Bad, bad, bad - and expensive!
