I prefer Breville's Ikon
I've had the opportunity to try both the Elite and the Ikon. I much prefer the Ikon. I found the Elite unnecessarily large. Both have the same ample-sized 3" fruit and vegetable receptacle in width, but the Elite's "food pusher" and chute are longer than the Ikon's, making the Elite more difficult to fit under an upper kitchen cabinet. The Elite looked too industrial and imposing on the counter. The Ikon looks "just right," and the Ikon's additional speed controls are a great plus. Also, the Ikon's "safety locking arm" is easier to use, possibly because it's more substantial, and the "arm" is more attractive than the Elite's.
WORTH NOTING: I bought the Ikon from Bed, Bath & Beyond. With their 20% off coupon, it was less expensive ... Read More
Great juicer.
Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor does all it says it will. I have even put cantelope through it (rind and all) and the juice was delicious. I had tried Jack LaLanes juicer previously and it was a real mess. I sent it back for a refund. Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor is real quality and I would recommend it to anyone interested in juicing for their health.
Great Juicer
I have had Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor for over a year and just purchased one for my in-laws. It is a wonderful juicer, easy to use, easy to clean, and an added plus, looks nice sitting out on your kitchen counter. It does a good job of extracting all the juice from the fruits and vegetables. The pulp that is ejected is very dry. The large opening is a huge time saver, as you don't have to cut the fruits and vegetables into small pieces. The juice catching container has measuring lines and a cover that prevents any splatters. There are only a few minor negatives: (1)because of the speed it does produce a fair amount of foam and (2) it does not juice grasses or greens very well. But, there isn't a juicer out there that does both fruits/veggies AND greens well. ... Read More
BEST JUICER.....BY FAR!!!!!!
I have owned a $100.00 Juice Man juicer for a year and it finally stopped working. It was hard to clean. I juice every morning and alternate between Fruit (apples, pears, pineapple, oranges and limes) and vegetables (plum tomatoes, celery, carrots, jalapeno, cilantro). The carrot residue is exceedingly difficult to remove from the basket and the tomato seeds get stuck between the cutting blades. The brush is cheap and slowly lost about half of the bristles over the year. When it quit, I fell for the TV hype and bought a Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Pro. What a piece of junk! At least the Juice Man has a good positive locking bar. The J.L Power Juicer has plastic grommets on top of the locking bar and a plastic cover which does not provide a good lock. Poor ... Read More
High Quality Product - Highly Recommended
I have used the Juiceman II juicer for several years. I thought it was pretty good. But I wasn't thrilled with with fastening mechanism that held the top in place, the juice spout (which leaked and would over shoot the juice container) and overall construction. Though the product worked pretty well, the white plastic bowl which housed the cutting blade, became discolored by the fruits and veggies that were passed through it, and the product was messy to use.
I just purchased the Breville 800JEXL and am pleasantly surprised. The Stainless Steel Bowl that houses the cutting disc, is a welcome sight. It uses a spigot to fill the juice pitcher and prevents spills and mess. The machine is very quiet, and works very quickly.
