What Others Say

Awesome egg cooker!
My 8-yr-old son often decides he wants a hard-cooked egg on the spur of the moment. Well, previously, I was loathe to boil up the requisite pot of water and deal with all of the fuss. This cute little egg cooker has really taken the "hard" :/ out of whipping up a batch of hard-cooked eggs, not to mention the energy-savings it has over my inefficient electric range. Would have gotten 5 out of 5 had it not been so difficult to get the lid off after cooking (hot water in there!).

Fabulous but only for a while
I bought a Nordic egg cooker for a friend, and she raved about it so much that I got one, too. It cooked eggs perfectly for a while and was easy to use. Unfortunately, part of it is a band that helps seal the product in the microwave. My cleaning lady threw mine out, thinking it was a rubber band, and that was that. My friend's product warped slightly shortly thereafter, and she could no longer use hers either. So it's back to boiling on the stove. The plastic needs to be more durable for long-term use, and the band should be part of the product--that is, attached to it.

not so easy.
At first I was so impressed with this item, found in walmart for 4$, I love soft boiled eggs but it always is a hassle for me to cook them the way I like, so this one worked fine in my microwave, then we moved and sold everything, started looking for another one, found it in walmart for 7$, the construction was bad (aluminum parts came off), but I kept it ( didn't know that there are better ones in the market), also even with practice I am still unable to control the softness with my different micorwave, the time, after how long to cool them, it is hectic, they never come the same everytime, also the risk of burning your hands with the spell ( especially with high microwave), the only good thing about it is the very cheap price, but I will pay ... Works Well - but "preheat" eggs to prevent crack
My eggs seemed to crack every time, until I remembered one recipies recommendation to leave the eggs out for 30 minutes or warm them in tap water first. Once I did that, the eggs did not crack open.

It works pretty much as directed by boiling water under the tray and protecting the eggs from direct microwave cooking by shielding them with an Aluminum top and tray. I've had both semi-hard boiled eggs and soft boiled eggs and both felt and tasted as if they were boiled on the stove. One thing to note...I'm not sure how they expect you to get the top off without burning your fingers a little. It's pretty hot, even after sitting 2 minutes as directed, and a pot holder is just going to slip...

Amazon shipped me broken merchandise
Never got a chance to try the Nordic Ware Egg Boiler. The shipping carton was in perfect condition but the item inside had been crushed before it was packed. Amazon charged me more for shipping than the product cost and shipped me a crushed egg boiler. I threw it in the trash. I recommend you buy Nordic Ware Egg Boiler from someone other than Amazon.
