One piece construction. I broke the blade off of the handle on my old Chef's knife. This one is beautiful, well-balanced in my hand and it performs great. Worth every penny. I will never throw away good money on a cheap knife again.

Great for chopping or slicing just aboout anything. Large, but handles very well. Not heavy.
