Over a year now and I love it!
No offense to all the negative reviewers, but I've had the bullet for over a year now and LOVE IT! I use it every morning (without fail) for smoothies and I've also used it for basic chopping. It's the easiest cleanup of any blender I've had. I don't use it to juice and I don't expect it to be a full-blown food processor - that's not what it was designed for. For the price, and what you get out of it in terms of speed and production, you can't beat it. I make a smoothie faster than my coffeemaker brews in the morning.
Common sense dictates that you don't put the plastic parts on the bottom rack of the dishwasher (hello!?) - I've put mine in the top rack of the dishwasher and the only thing I had to do was readjust the wring seal ... Read More
Useful, but not a blender.
I got this as a wedding gift, it sat in the box for the first year. It is very useful as several people have mentioned for smoothies and things of that nature. I've used it to grind spices as well and did a very good job. I don't give Magic Bullet Express 17-Piece High-Speed Blender Mixing System 5 stars because well, it's not a blender - I don't want to make individual margaritas if I have friends over or make the same smoothie three times so that everyone can have one. I am not sure if they make an attachement that would allow for larger batches to be made but that would take this review from 4 stars to 5.
Magic Bullet
I love the unit for its convience, but it would have been nice to just buy the unit and maybe one cup if I had the option, all the other things will get lost in my attic. The one improvement would be more power, while mixing my shakes with as little as one banana the unit slows down, so more power is what I miss. I would buy another, but less gadgets, put one out for the runner who is in a hurry and only needs minimum.
Exactly what was promised
We purchased this item over a month ago and I have been very satisfied with its service thus far. Read the manual (like you should for almost all appliances that you purchase) and it will do the trick.
A lot of people have given this item a bad review. I can understand that, especially if you are expecting a blender that will do everything but cook the meal for you. If you really want something that will juice, grind, and do heavy-duty work, buy the $400 VitaMix.
The Magic Bullet doesn't promise that you can grind bones, light bulbs, or tennis balls, but it does make great smoothies and sauces and it's very convenient!
Good at what it does
I bought Magic Bullet Express 17-Piece High-Speed Blender Mixing System with the intention of making smoothies and protein shakes for before and after the gym. I am a college student, and as such I don't have much room of my own around my apartment. The Magic Bullet takes up very little counter space, and the cups are easily stacked if you put them upside down & on top of each other. Blending together a peanut butter banana protein shake takes about 15 seconds to blend, and roughly 3 minutes to prepare. The one minor hassle about this is that you usually have to precut/shape some ingredients (I.E. cut bananas, crush ice) to fit them in the cup, but realistically that usually takes less than a minute of time. Cleanup doesn't take too long either; I usually fill the cup I just used with water, ... Read More
