We have had the Tea Kettle for a few months. It works great and is much easier to keep clean than the plastic one we prevously owned. The style is just right for a traditional kitchen. We enjoy it on a daily basis.
Looking for plastic-free? Then this one's not for you!
If I had only known before buying this kettle that the boiling water comes into contact with plastic AND a rubber/silicone gasket, it would have spared me the trouble of buying it in the first place.
If this is a concern for you, avoid this kettle. There is both a rubber or silicone gasket inside the kettle at the base and a water level marker made of plastic. Both of these come into contact with boiling water. The strainer, which is also plastic, can be removed.
A couple more things:
-The kettle is quite LARGE - one of the larger ones I've seen.

Stylish, elegant, does the job!
I like Cuisinart RK-17 Traditional Cordless 1-3/4-Quart 1500-Watt Electric Kettle very much...the on/off switch is a little sensitive and tends to pop up and switch off if you don't hold it down for a second when you depress it. Other than that (a very minor detail), it's great.

for those avoiding plastic, there are two small plastic pieces (the screen and the max water level) - both are removable.

Special teapot
This is what I wanted and received from Santa. Heats super fast, looks elegant on the counter and it is so nice to have it hot and ready in a jiffy. Worth every penny. Plan to give one to my sister too when her birthday rolls around.
