Basket hard to get out/machine too lightweight.
Just got this machine and have found a flaw I don't see on other reviews or missed it: The basket is so hard to remove (stiff, fits too tight) that I have to hold the machine down to get it out. Anyone else have this problem? To workaround the frothing nozzle issue, I set the machine on a wooden block the same size as the machine to give it height...but since the basket is so hard to remove, it doesnt sit on the wooden block solidly when trying to get the basket out. The machine itself is just too lightweight.
I like the shot I got out of it and makes good steamed milk - but too clumbsy with the basket issue.
A little disapointed - after reading the reviews, I thought this machine was going to be the holy grail of pump ... Read More
Not Good coffee
I am not particularly happy with DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker. The espresso "discharged" by this machine is not watery and has no strength what-so-ever. I have experimented enough with different amounts of coffee and water but looks like light espresso is the best this machine can do. The krupps espresso machine I had earlier was much better..
Makes a Great Espresso
This is my fourth espresso machine. The other three were all Mr. Coffee Pump Espresso machines, but an older version of what you currently see available. I got tired of replacing them because they have a max life of 18 months IMHO. I bought the DeLonghi EC155 because of its favorable reviews AND its price. After less than a week I can say that I like this machine A LOT. I will describe how I make a cup of Americano and deal with the "issues" that some reviewers have had with this machine. As soon as you get the machine out of the box get a bucket of white paint out and dip a toothpick into the paint. Fill the notch on the control knob with a little of the white paint. Hope you are not in a hurry...
This machine make fine coffee, but is very slow. First: the machine needs to heat the water for 25 minutes before brewing. Yes, 25 MINUTES! at first i thought it a mis-print, but no, 25 minutes. Second: if you are doing a double shot, you have to pause inbetween shot 1 and shot 2. Third: the coffee this machine produces is never really hot - luke warm at best. Customer service told me to run a vinegar-water solution through it to clean, but this did not help at all. The visible water level window was a nice feature. The cost of this unit is ok,but for a little more investment better machines are avaialble.
GREAT ITEM
This capucino maker is a wonderful item. It is very easy to use and not too big to have out on my counter. The capucino is hot and delicious. I am very happy with my purchase, the price was very fair, and the delivery was quick. I will happily recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good capucino.
