What Others Say
Bought as a gift for my dad.....
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad. I selected it as a high-quality brand but without too many bells and whistles that my dad doesn't need. Pricing was good compared to others. I can't speak too much to its functionality since I'm not the user.
Jury is still out
Overall the unit works OK. There are too many false alerts though. I have a had a few instances when the laser indicator has occurred without ever finding a source.
Well worth the cost
I have onwned several detectors over the years but refused to pay what I considered an arm and a leg . This model has proved to be worth the cost. On highway it would pick up radar at a much greater distance. Fewer false alarms. and the ability to ID the diffirent bands are very helpfull. The only down side is it's sieze and bulk.
Great Radar for the DFW Area
I purchased this radar because my previous radar was fairly outdated. I am not a speed demon per se, but like to have the detector as an added safeguard for my road trips within Texas. Very loud and there are various settings in terms of brightness. I do have a tiny amount of trouble mounting the detector in certain vehicles (SUVs mainly), but that could just be user error. All in all, I recommend ... Read More
Very Pleased
Very pleased with Beltronics V940 Vector Radar/laser Detector with Text Display and Voice Alerts (Black/Silver). This is the second Beltronics I have purchased and like the first is a good value and I am happy with it. One thing you should be aware of is that it needs it's own power supply from the vehicle. Putting it on a splitter i.e. with another device (GPS, mp3 player, etc.) will cause it to give a service required warning. I learned this from Beltronics customer service department.
